And while the idea of a soft life can and should appeal to everyone, as a Black woman, I find it especially important to embrace entering into your ‘soft life era’.
For too long, many of us have been pigeonholed into the “strong Black woman” narrative—a label that, while often meant as praise, is also an unfair and weighty burden, implying we don’t feel pain or that our mental health or emotional health isn’t a priority
Embracing the soft life movement is a beautiful way of breaking free from those societal expectations to pave the way towards a more genuine, enriching, and intentional happiness way of living.
It’s an acknowledgment that we as black women deserve comfort, gentleness, and indulgence just as much as anyone else.
